For all the cookie-cutter, repetitive, synthesized junk music filling the top 40 lists these days, it is refreshing to enjoy what I call "real musical talent." Digital streaming services and the average Millennial attention span that can't concentrate on anything longer than about 30 seconds, have virtually obliterated good music. I keep wondering what happened to great geniuses like Beethoven, Mozart and Strauss? If there ever were modern equivalents to the great composers of the past 500 years, John Williams would at the top of that list. My hat is off to those like him who view the musical landscape like a priceless piece of art and an expression of the human soul. Rather than another 3 minutes of mindless, repetitive noise that hits the top of the charts today and is forgotten tomorrow.
